If I could give 10 stars, this apartment would get them! I am just back from a three day trip to lovely Schwerin, my first - but definitely not last- visit to this interesting old city with a lot of history. I was attracted to Dirk’s apartment because it promised quiet rooms and we only had to climb up one flight of stairs ( travelling with my 90 year old mum, this was paramount). And the apartment kept what was promised! A peaceful oasis with a big balcony overlooking apple trees ( and some other apartment buildings). We were really lucky with the weather and had breakfast in the sun. Everything we needed was supplied- lovely bedding, comfortable very big double bed and sofabed, cuddly fleece blankets, soft and plentiful towels. The kitchen was superbly equipped with fridge freezer, microwave, oven and hob, even a dishwasher! Toaster, kettle and coffee machine. Proper beautiful wine and champagne glasses, stylish crockery, plenty of spices, coffee and filters. There’s a washing machine in the spacious bathroom. Lots of great artwork in all rooms. I adored this place and wish I could stay forever!! It’s situated 5 minutes‘ walk from the dome and old town with its many shops, restaurants, cafés and icecream bars. And as for Dirk- a heartfelt THANK YOU for all your help and advice and immediate replies when we were delayed on the train journey! Dirk was incredibly proactive and helpful and made sure we were supremely comfortable. Highly recommended!!!!

It’s one of the best-equipped properties we’ve ever stayed at. It’s spacious and located in the city center (500 meters from the castle). It was spotlessly clean. You can leave the car at a private parking space. Even if we were just on the way, we had a great stay and would have loved staying longer. Because of the nice city and because of the nice flat. The host is lovely and attentive and check-in was very smooth.

Excellent apartment, great owner with thoughtful preparation and communication, the best place to stay if going to Hamburg/Schwerin/northern Germany. - location: central train station is 3 min opposite; city centre with supermarket and shops all within walking distance. - interior: spacious, equipped with everything in kitchen, 2 bedrooms, tv channels - safety: ground floor property on Main Street so feel safe going back in the evening, but surprisingly quiet, pedestrians won’t try to look in, all rooms face back garden which is nice. Clean corridor and no sound coming from next door or upstairs neighbours - the host! Asked about our needs immediately after booking (months before the actual trip!) and got all things ready. Even brought flowers and autumn decor on the day to make it feel like home. Clearly gives great deal of care. Gave us recommendations on sightseeing, day tour ideas, and restaurants beforehand.

One of the most beautiful, comfortable and modern apartments we have ever stayed in! Design and decoration are top, all was super clean as well. Very helpful info materials and everything you could possibly need was available. Communication with the host was speedy, professional and friendly. Location could not be better, easy to reach everything we wanted to visit in Schwerin, castle, lake, old town, cathedral, restaurants, shops, Mecklinburger Staatstheater. Even though we had a very very minimum German, we understood each other enough. Outside the room there was a mini bar with water, coke, beer, wine and snacks. We could take anything and pay at departure. The double bed was made of two twins and with two single duvets what was perfect for us. Breakfast was very well served! Quiet area as well but very central. The village itself is absolutely fenomenal and a must to visit!
